yall. i’m just obsessed with the olympics. it’s on ALL day, every day. seriously, i can’t get enough of gabby douglas, beach volleyball, and missy franklin. best way to spend this nasty hot month of august for sure. i’ve combined olympics with craft time here in our little home. canvases are being painted (oy, for the third time–stenciling is HARD!), little baby shower gifts are being stitched, t-shirt blankets are completed, curtains and crib skirts are being sewn up, and accessories are being placed here and there in our house–9 months in this house and i finally feel like things are coming together.
my sewing room is getting a tiny makeover from where we started back in november. it’s the first room people see when they walk in the house and it just didn’t feel like it “went” with the rest of our home. i’m taking down bright punches of color and putting up more of a shabby chic/country-ish mix of turquoise, peach, and taupe with doily buntings here and there…and a cluster of doily lamps (thanks, sister) in the corner. i’m on the hunt for a few more things to finish the room off…and thanks to pinterest, i know exactly what i want.
- my color inspiration. add in a pop of turqoise and it’s perfect.
- a new sewing chair to replace my cheapy black one.
- i love this DIY re-do. this (definitely in a different color) would be great to house all my extra fabrics and craft supplies.
